 ON YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING

Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Don't be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the LORD and turn away from evil. Then you will have healing for your body and strength for your bones. Proverbs 3:5-7

My emphasis is on the word “ON YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING” in the verses above. A lot of time we quote this scripture but does the truth sink in that we can never be wiser than God. God is the all knowing God and he knows and understands all men more than we do. Because he is the all knowing God, he can sometimes reveal his secrets to us or tell us about things that have happened(past), that is happening (present) and that will happen(the future). So as a single sister serving the Lord, he is the ONLY one that you can depend on when it comes to all life issues. I will be focusing on marriage in this post as it is my wedding anniversary month and I am trusting God to settle as many as will key in to this divine settlement.



I was already called into the ministry several years before I met my husband, The Overcomers Evangelical Ministries International was 14 years at that time and so by the grace of God I can hear the voice of God. A couple of months earlier to the first time my husband contacted me, I just released a new movie on home video in Lagos Nigerian then. Just as the Lord promised me earlier that year in regards to our film production that he will take off the marketing stress of our movies from us, a Christian film marketer signed an agreement with me and paid for 10,000 copies distributing right from me. It was a good one and a great relieve at that time because I didn’t have to replicate and market the movie myself like in the past. A series of events happened right after that God used to finalize my divine settlement in marriage. 

 

The Lord laid it in my heart to sow seeds into people’s life in different places, back then I baled for business and used the income from my baking and catering business to support the ministry but in the space of few weeks I made cakes worth more than 45,000 Nigerian Naira back in 2010 and sowed it into people life on the occasion of their birthday. One of them is a famous gospel singer and I remembered she carried the cake around when I gave it to her in person shouting excitedly. The other person was so excited seeing the big cakes I gave them as a gift to the children birthday. I was prompted by the Lord to give several thousands of Nigerian naira as love offering around this time too as a seed to a number of people. It was beyond my understanding why I should give that much in a little time but I obeyed the Lord. I trusted the Lord with the whole of my heart and all that I had.



Shortly after the series of monetary and gift giving, a beloved brother was traveling out of the country at that time and ask if he could upload the newly released movie on YouTube to bless the whole world barely a month that it was released on Nigeria Market. Looking at the money paid by the marketer and the fact that the movie was just released and amount of money used in producing the movie( It was the huge amount and the hugest at that time I have spent on a movie) I should logically say “no” but I did not depend on my understanding, I relied on God and he directed me. He said I should release the movie to bless the whole world free of charge and that was it, I asked the brother to go ahead and he uploaded it on YouTube for the whole world to watch.

My husband happened to see it just as he finished uploading, according to him he was among the first five views on YouTube and that night after watching the part 1 and part 2 of “ILE OMINIRA” he knelt down to pray and God directed his heart to me and reminded him of the revelation he had received concerning me several months back. He watched the movie in Germany while I was in Lagos, the Lord used that movie to connect us as he send me a message a few weeks after watching and that was how things began to fall in place. A few weeks later he proposed to me and by his grace we are married today.

Supposing I relied on my understanding and wonder why must I give so much or why must the movie be uploaded free? My miracle will have been delayed, how many times as singles have you delayed your miracle because you are relying on your own way? Some say I don’t believe in giving and I say you don’t believe in God. God showed us an example by giving his best to us; he gave us his only begotten son (John 3: 16) what is the instruction that the Lord has given to you? If you want to receive you must drop what is in your hand. Someone might say what is the relationship between giving and divine settlement? I will say it is about trusting God and following whatever instruction he gives to you, don’t depend on your understand even when you can’t see the connection between what God is saying and what you desire of him. This season I pray for you that the Lord will help you to depend on him and not your own understanding.

My 7th wedding anniversary will be coming up in a few weeks, I am trusting God to give 70 divine marriages to beloved daughters of God on this forum who are overdue for marriage.
